The National Instruments PCI-5153 is a high-performance oscilloscope designed for demanding applications requiring precision and speed. With a bandwidth of 500 MHz and a maximum sample rate of 2 GS/s, this 8-bit oscilloscope features two channels that allow for synchronized sampling and versatile configurations for filtering, voltage range, and coupling. On the front panel, the PCI-5153 is equipped with two standard BNC female connectors (CH 0 and CH 1) for analog input, as well as an external analog trigger connection via an additional BNC connector labeled TRIG. For advanced timing applications, it includes a dedicated SMB jack connector known as "PFI 0" for sample clock input, reference clock input, and digital trigger connections. Furthermore, "PFI 1" serves as a separate SMB jack for reference clock output, digital trigger in/out, and probe compensation connections.

Standard configurations provide 8 MB per channel of onboard memory, with an option to expand to 256 MB per channel for more extensive applications. Users can conveniently configure the PCI-5153 with the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) software.
