National Instruments PXI-1010

The National Instruments PXI-1010 is a versatile PXI chassis designed to meet the demands of advanced data acquisition and switching applications. This chassis features a total of 12 slots, composed of 8 PXI slots and 4 SCXI slots, enabling operation in both parallel and multiplexed SCXI modes. The integrated PXI and SCXI backplanes facilitate the use of various instrumentation modules, including those for switching, data acquisition, image acquisition, and motion control, along with support for sensors such as RTDs and thermocouples. Users can also expand functionality through the integration of additional modules for digital I/O, programmatic filtering, and isolated current or voltage outputs.

The PXI-1010 supports multiplexed input channels over the SCXI backplane, allowing seamless integration into larger systems by daisy-chaining additional SCXI chassis. Ideal for benchtop settings, it includes removable rubber feet and provides mounting points on both sides for easy installation in embedded applications, including the option for rack-mounting or recessing in instrument cabinets without requiring access to the chassis’s interior. The chassis has a robust power output capability of up to 300 W, operating on an input voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC.

Software compatibility includes the NI-DAQ suite and support for National Instruments application software such as LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, significantly enhancing development efficiency for data acquisition and control tasks. The chassis measures 16.2 x 17.3 x 7.0 inches and weighs 29 lbs, with an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C and a storage range of –20 to 70 °C. Although the PXI-1010 has been designated as obsolete, it remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
