The National Instruments PXI-2598 is a high-performance PXI Transfer Switch Module designed for routing microwave and RF signals in automated test environments. With a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω and a bandwidth of 26.5 GHz, this module offers efficient signal routing, making it suitable for both basic signal operations and integration tasks involving the addition and removal of components within a signal path. It serves effectively in applications requiring the transport of high-order harmonics between signal upconverters and downconverters.

The PXI-2598 features a built-in relay count tracking function, which minimizes unexpected system downtime while extending relay lifespan. Rated for Measurement Category I, the module manages signal voltages up to 100 Volts, supporting up to 1.25 Arms of maximum carry current per channel and a maximum RF power of 75 W. The switch load capacity reaches -35 dBm, complemented by its exceptional RF performance characterized by <0.03 dB insertion loss repeatability thanks to the latching electromechanical relays, which are constructed from gold-plated beryllium copper. These relays are designed for durability, providing an expected mechanical life of over 2.5 million cycles.

Measuring 8.5 x 1.6 x 5.1 inches and weighing approximately 302 grams, the PXI-2598 is a compact 3U, two-slot PXI module equipped with eight SMA jacks for seamless connections. The recommended switching cycle speed is 5 channels per second, and the module is capable of receiving trigger signals with a minimum pulse width of 150 ns. For further information, the user manual and maintenance documentation are available for download. To inquire about pricing, please contact a sales representative.
