The National Instruments PXI-5112 is a high-performance PXI Digitizer that combines extensive onboard acquisition memory, a wide analog bandwidth, and a significant analog input range, all within an economically viable package. It is available in two configurations: Part Number 777758-01 with 16 MB/channel and Part Number 777756-01 with 32 MB/channel. Utilizing the high-speed PCI bus, the PXI-5112 efficiently acquires and processes large waveforms, allowing for faster measurements and reduced overall test times compared to GPIB-based instruments.
The PXI-5112 features two analog input channels capable of handling signal ranges from ±0.025 V to ±25 V in 10 percent increments. Programmable DC offset is available, offering up to 20 times the selected input range, along with options for AC coupling and DC offset to enhance the dynamic range of measurable signals. Each channel can be configured to impose a 20 MHz hardware bandwidth limit, effectively filtering out undesirable high-frequency noise.
Equipped with the advanced NI-TIO ASIC, the PXI-5112 provides precise timing and counter functions, enabling timestamping of recorded events with a resolution of 2 ns for real-time sampling, and 100 ps for random-interleaved testing. The device supports long-duration data acquisition with rapid rearm times, allowing for timestamping of activated events over periods of up to 130 days in continuous sampling mode.
The digitizer utilizes an 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to enable simultaneous data acquisition on both channels at sample rates ranging from 100 MS/s to 1 S/s, with high-accuracy timing capabilities allowing tests on repetitive signals at speeds of up to 2.5 GS/s. The PXI-5112 is equipped with two BNC female connectors, one SMB female connector, and a 9-pin DIN I/O connector, all packaged in a compact form factor measuring 3.9 x 6.3 inches. The unit operates effectively in ambient temperatures ranging from 0 °C to 40 °C and can be stored in conditions between -20 °C and 70 °C with a humidity range of 10% to 90% RH. For optimal performance, a warm-up time of 15 minutes and annual calibration are recommended. The PXI-5112 is backed by a three-year warranty and has associated user and maintenance manuals available for download.
All products are covered by Industrial Automation Co.'s 2-Year Warranty.
