The National Instruments WSN-3202 is a wireless analog input node suitable for constructing robust wireless sensor networks. Featuring four analog input channels and four digital I/O channels, this device operates seamlessly with other WSN gateways and nodes. Each analog input channel provides 16-bit resolution and selectable input ranges, allowing for precise measurement in industrial applications. The digital I/O channels are bi-directional and can be individually configured to different operating modes. The WSN-3202 can communicate over a distance of up to 300 meters when connected to the WSN-9701 Ethernet gateway, ensuring reliable data transmission over wireless IEEE 802.15 links. The node is powered by either four 1.5 V AA batteries or an external power supply ranging from 9 V to 30 V, making it an ideal solution for environments lacking easy access to power outlets. Under standard sampling conditions of one sample per minute, the device’s battery can last up to three years. Additionally, the WSN-3202 includes a power terminal that can supply power to external sensors. Although National Instruments has declared the WSN-3202 obsolete, the device remains available for purchase and repair through Apex Waves.
