Technical Description of 140CPU53414A:

With remarkable power and high-speed capabilities, the CPU module 140CPU53414A of our Quantum system resides on a local I/O backplane. It boasts precise digital operation with programmable memory for user instructions, ensuring efficient control over its diverse range of remote and distributed inputs & outputs.

This advanced CPU module 140CPU53414A packs a punch with 6.25 W power dissipation, boasting 64 K of ladder logic and an impressive 128 k for input and output memory strategies. Furthermore, it can handle 57 internal registers or up to 96k external ones - offering endless possibilities.

This 140CPU53414A model has 2972 kb of internal RAM, a watchdog timer at 250 ms, and an operating clock frequency of 100 MHz. Unfortunately, it does not include a mathematical coprocessor €“ making heavy calculations potentially more complex.

This CPU module model boasts three ports of Modbus RS232 and one port of convenient, advanced Modbus Plus connections. The Lithium battery has an average load current rating of 10 µA and can reach up to 420 µA at peak performance. Its service life can reach 1.2 Ah, lasting up to ten years on the shelf.

General Information:

With 1435 KB of Flash EPROM, this model lets you store programs and initial values for variables. Upon powering up, users can give commands to initiate operation using the PLC MEM switch on its front panel.

The user can select from three options regarding common parameter settings for their Modbus (RS232) ports by adjusting the slide switch in this model. Selecting the top position will assign ASCII functionality as a primary choice, offering an array of communication capabilities.

With the switch set to the middle position, operations can assign RTU functionality to various ports. Users are empowered with software-defined common parameters for increased flexibility and connection control by setting it downward.

Setting the front panel switch of a CPU to RTU or ASCII mode automatically enables bridge mode. It allows devices connected directly to the Modbus port on the CPU to easily communicate and log into nodes on its integrated Modbus Plus network.
