Understanding the Allen-Bradley 1762-IF4
The Allen-Bradley 1762-IF4 is a four-channel analog input module with a Delta-Sigma converter. It is compatible with MicroLogix 1100, 1200, and 1400 PLCs. The device supports 4-20 mA and -10 to 10V DC signals. It receives information and communicates on 5 to 24 volts of DC power via the 1762 bus interface. The module's compact design allows it to integrate into control systems with limited space easily.

Installation and Configuration of 1762-IF4
The installation should be in a non-hazardous environment that is clean and dry. The device supports a 2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire transmitter configuration. Always remove power and prevent electrostatic discharge to avoid damage. The operator can select the input signal type through the provided DIP switches. For expansions, the installer should use the ribbon cable connected by pin contacts installed on the front panel of every 1762-IF4. The module can be DIN-rail or direct-panel mounted.
