The Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5370 L2 1769-L24ER-QBFC1BA programmable logic controller is a processor module that shares the L3 controller's CPU performance in a smaller, cost-effective size. The 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B is a well-managed power/sink controller ideal for small-scale applications, including board lift, index, hoist, and pack. Software, including RSLogix5000/Logix Designer, allows for monitoring and control of the module. One hundred programs can be operated by the 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B, supporting up to 32 controller processes.
The module comes with 1MB of user memory that may expand with a bundled 1GB SD memory card or an additional 2GB memory. There are 1 USB port, 2 DLR-compatible EtherNet, and IP ports, 256 EtherNet and IP connections, and 120 TCP connections. Four high-speed counters, four general-purpose analog inputs, two analog inputs, sixteen 24 Vdc sourcing digital output points, and sixteen 24 Vdc sourcing/sinking digital input points make up the 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B Termination. This controller is expandable with up to four 1769 modules and has a status LED and an open case.
The 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B has an internal 24Vdc power supply that draws 1A at 5Vdc and 0.8A at 24Vdc. The operating voltage ranges at 40 degrees Celsius is 10 to 28.8 volts DC, at 55 deg. is 10 to 27 volts DC, and at 60 degrees is 10 to 26.4 volts DC. The maximum output voltage is 5 volts DC, and the maximum output current is 1.5 mA. It also has a forward current of 2mA minimum to 5 amps maximum at 24 volts DC per channel.
The 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B has a nominal output voltage of 24 volts DC and an operating voltage range of 20.4 to 26.4 volts DC. At 24 VDC, the maximum over-state voltage drop is 0.1 mA, the maximum over-state current is 0.5 mA per channel, and the maximum out-of-state leakage current is 0.1 mA. The current is 1 Volt DC for one amplifier. Also, the current per point is 0.83A at 40°C, 0.58A at 55°C, and 0.5A at 60°C. The current per module is 6.64 amps, 4.64 amps at 40°C, four amps at 55°C, and four amps at 60°C. Additionally, the controller includes a 30 VDC DC isolation voltage.
Allen-Bradley’s CompactLogix 5370 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B controller fully automates simple general-purpose control applications, motion, and position control. This automated controller can control machines and tasks ranging from low to medium control requirements. In particular, the controller’s onboard capabilities enable applications requiring control of motion, counting, and location at rapid speed via Ethernet or encoders, totalizers, and other devices.
This controller has 1MB of memory and a built-in 1GB stable memory. It also has 2 Ethernet interfaces supporting linear, ring, and star topologies, 1 USB Socket enabling communication commonly used for the starting setup or software upgrade/downgrade, and one serial communication port that supports DF1, DH485, and ASCII protocol. It also offers onboard input/output channels such as (16) 24VDC powered/sinking digital inputs, (16) 24VDC sinking digital outputs, four sets of high-speed counters, four high-speed counters with velocity output, two analog outputs, and four universal analog inputs.
RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 Logix Designer software can be used to manage user settings and downloadable programs for this controller. Also, use RSLogix 5000 software to set up communications and registrations, offer database access, and operate enterprise reporting tools (ERT), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and human-machine interface (HMI) systems can also do. The controller is familiar with the IEC 61131-3 programming language, including relay ladder diagrams, structured text, function blocks, and sequential function charts (SFC).
