Part Number: IC660BPM100

The IC660BPM100 Power Monitoring Block (PMB) is an advanced component within the GE 90-30 series, designed for precise measurement of RMS values for current, power, VARs, power factor, and watt-hours, accommodating distorted waveforms. This PMB is versatile, capable of measuring line frequency and detecting overcurrent waveforms above configurable thresholds, suitable for both 4-wire and 3-wire systems with straightforward user connections. It supports direct connections for up to three transformers and three line current transformers, in addition to one neutral current transformer, while maintaining a low current transformer burden of less than 0.1 VA. The device is software configurable and engineered for integration within electrical distribution and process equipment. With an integrated power supply that accepts 115/230 VAC or 125 VDC inputs, the IC660BPM100 can be installed on a bus up to 7500 feet from the host. It is compatible with CPU redundancy configurations and can operate in stand-alone monitoring without a host. The electronic assembly allows for insertion or removal without affecting block configuration or field wiring, and no CT shorting clips are necessary. Utilizing dual analog and digital techniques, the PMB delivers accurate and stable RMS measurements regardless of higher-order harmonics, with measurement updates occurring approximately twice per second through block sampling. The unit requires sufficient memory to accommodate 36 bytes of calculated data, while 16 output control bits are sent from the PLC or computer to establish a “handshaking” protocol. When installing the block, proper clearance must be considered for wiring routing and airflow, along with space at the front for a handheld monitor attachment.
