The IC687BEM744 is a half-slot FIP Bus Controller tailored for use with the IC967 family of PLCs from GE Fanuc. This module features a compact, half-width faceplate that facilitates its installation in an integrated rack, making it an efficient choice for space-constrained environments. Functionally equivalent to the full-slot versions, the IC687BEM744 operates on a 2.5MHz WorldFIP network and supports TCP/IP communications along with generic messaging capabilities. It is important to note that this module is not compatible with the expansion racks of a 90-70 PLC system; however, a single 90-70 PLC can accommodate up to four FIP Bus controllers. The IC687BEM744 includes six status-indicating LEDs—representing Module OK, Bus Arbiter, Carrier Detect (Channels 1 and 2), and Transmit Enable (Channels 1 and 2)—which provide real-time operational feedback.
